Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of Gouda cheese
- 8 slices of bacon
- 1 cup sliced leeks
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce and tomato slices for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat a grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat
In a bowl, season the ground chicken with salt and pepper
Divide it into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties
Cook the bacon slices until crispy, then set them aside on paper towels to drain excess grease
In the same pan, add olive oil and saut the sliced leeks until they become tender and slightly caramelized
Remove from heat and set aside
Grill the chicken patties for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks
During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of Gouda cheese to each patty and let it melt
Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute or until they are lightly browned
Mix mayonnaise and barbecue sauce in a small bowl to make the sauce for the burgers
Assemble the burgers by spreading the sauce on the bottom half of each bun
Place a chicken patty with melted Gouda on top, followed by 2 bacon slices and sauted leeks
Top with lettuce and tomato slices
