This dandelion root coffee alternative is a Paleo-friendly beverage that provides a rich, earthy flavor reminiscent of traditional coffee without the caffeine.
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp dried dandelion roots
- 2 cups water
- Optional: coconut milk or almond milk for serving
- Optional: honey or maple syrup for sweetness
Instructions:
To get rid of any dirt, rinse the dried dandelion roots under cold water
Two cups of water should be brought to a boil in a small saucepan
Pour the boiling water over the rinsed dandelion roots
After lowering the heat to low, simmer the roots for ten to fifteen minutes
After turning off the heat, take the saucepan and steep the dandelion roots for a further five minutes
Pour the infusion of dandelion root into a cup or teapot through a strainer
Serve hot, with the option to add honey or maple syrup for sweetness and coconut milk or almond milk for creaminess
